Movie Trailer Parody Contest

In a world where…….. ooops let’s try that again. In a land where…… noooo! The summer movie season is almost over, and the big budget movies are all out. While we wait for the next wave of big budget movies, we have decided to run an Ether Saga Movie Trailer Parody Contest.

We want you to create a movie trailer using in game ESO footage that parodies any movie trailer of your choice. You can add special effects and your own voiceovers, but video can only come from ESO. What exactly is a parody? A parody also called spoof is a work created to mock, comment on, or poke fun at the original trailer by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation. This means the trailer that you are creating does not have to be a 100% copy of it.

What type of movie trailers can you parody? Comedy, action, drama, suspense, anything will work! Will you recreate a trailer for an epic fantasy movie, or do you want to wow the world with a sweeping romance epic? How about a trailer for a summer comedy, or just a campy 80’s movie? Put yourself in the director chair and show us what you can do. Bring out your inner movie trailer voice. We cannot wait for the awesome cliché voiceovers that will be used!

Not quite sure which trailer to parody? You can find a wide range of trailers online at Yahoo!, Apple and many other sites. Still short on ideas? How about a trailer parody of “The Happening” but add in the twist of a Carnivorax attacking people! Feel free to use foreign movie trailers as well, but the voiceovers must be done in English.

Prizes:
1st Place - 100 Etherbucks
2nd Place – 50 Etherbucks
3rd Place – 25 Etherbucks

Players can choose to divide the prize if they have multiple participants in their video. It is up to the creator of the video to decide on the allocation of prizes.

Instructions:
1. Create your movie trailer in Ether Saga using the video capture / editing tools of your choice.
2. Upload your movie to YouTube. Please add the tag “Ether Saga Movie Trailer” to your video.
3. Email us the link of the YouTube video at esocommunity@perfectworldinc.com
4. In your email let us know which movie trailer you are parodying.

Rules:
-Videos must be uploaded to Youtube
-Videos must be a minimum of 45 Seconds and a Maximum of 2:30 Minutes
-Videos must be made within Ether Saga-Audio do not have to be original
-Videos must not contain inappropriate content (vulgar, discriminatory, sexist, etc)
-Contest will be closed on September 14th, and winners will be announced by September 16th.

Judging:
Videos will be judged based on various factors. Here are the different categories that each video will be judged on: video quality, voice quality, how good the trailer parodies the original trailer. Bonus points will be given for awesome original voiceovers.

September Calendar Creation Contest

Another month is about to begin and it's time for another calendar Contest . Are you up to the challenge?

What does September remind you of? Going back to school perhaps? Or maybe the end of a summer vacation and it's time to go back to work. Whatever it is, feel free to express it on your calendar design.

If you're up to the task then step up the plate, send in your design(s) and take part in Calendar Design Contest for the month of September. For this month we do not have a Calendar template. Let's see what players can come up with on their own! :)

To participate, here’s what you need to do:

1) Create your design with the programs of your choice. Make sure the resolution is 1280 x 1024.

2) Finished with your artwork? Send it to esoevents@perfectworldinc.com. MULTIPLE submissions are allowed!

In your email, please include your in-game character name and server in order to receive your prize should you win. Also put "ESO September Calendar Contest" in the subject line.

4) The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, September 1st at 11:00 AM Pacific time. All submissions will be reviewed by representatives from the Community, Product and Design teams here at Perfect World Entertainment, and winners will be announced on Wednesday September, 1st!

The Top 3 Designs (based on criteria such as artistic merit, creativity, humor, expressions, etc.) will be featured on our website and made available for all users to download. We will be awarding a pet for each of the winners. The pet will be announced shortly.

Rules:
- Send your Calendar design to esoevents@perfectworldinc.com by 11:00 am on Monday, August 3rd, 2009.
- The pixel of the image must be 1280 x 1024 (we need it to fit on standard monitor sizes!).
- Designs must incorporate a calendar grid for the month of September, along with the Ether Saga logo and/or the URL of our website (eso.perfectworld.com).
- Files MUST be in .jpg, .gif or bitmap (.bmp) only.
- Do not use characters, locations, or objects from other intellectual properties, (Ether Saga Online elements only!).
- Please keep your designs in good taste. Submissions that are deemed objectionable will be rejected for consideration.
- Previous prize winners will be eligible to win and receive a prize.

For Third Place we have Nevje from Ancestral Ruins. Nevje's Calendar was simple yet cute. One can say that her design had a lot of heart.



For Second Place we have Tiina from Fort Phoenix. The calendar design with the Katsu Fox was well received as it had a certain style to it.



And finally the Top Winner goes to Monaka from Ancestral Ruins. Monaka's calendar featured the White Dragon boss. Perhaps the countless battles against the White Dragon inspired her to design the calendar around him!

Event:Clan SDcavenger Contest

Years ago, Sun Wu Kong the Monkey King took a magic staff from the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea’s Palace and is now using it as his weapon. Still angered by the Monkey King’s intrusion and jealous of his quest to help Jino, the Dragon King has threatened to flood Pokari.

Terrified of the upcoming flood, Wehn held a council with various advisors and they suggested that they try to contact Shen Long, the Spiritual Dragon who governs the wind, clouds and rain to help prevent the flood.

To summon the Shen Long, a large amount of items would be needed. First a great altar would have to be constructed. The workers will need something to help construct the altar. There are various other objects that would need to be obtained to create the talisman to summon Shen Long. Various pets would also have to be sacrificed.

Wehn has put out a notice to all of the clans throughout Pokari, the first clan to obtain all of the required items will be rewarded. Is your clan up to the task? Can your clan save Pokari from the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea?

When / Where:

The event will begin on Friday at 2:00 PM PDT for both servers. The list of items that Clans will have to collect will be released to everybody at this time.

How to Participate:

This is a Clan Scavenger Hunt so your clan will be gathering various items. The items that your clan will have to collect will be posted on Friday, August 7th at 2:00 PM PDT. Once the item list is released, organize your clan and try to gather all of the specified items.

Designate ONE and only ONE person in your clan to send all the items to Loonie. The items will be sent through the ESO in game mail. There should be a total of 16 mails that you will send. If an item is listed as 50 Potions, make sure you send it all in one stack and not 50 individual mails.

In each mail make sure you include your Clan name (not Alliance name). Please try to mail your items after you gather everything. Try not to send one mail on one day, another mail the next day and so on. If you are trying to send a mail and it says recipient's mail box is full, send a email to esoevents@perfectworldinc.com or post in this thread for assistance.

How to win:

Be the first clan to collect and send in ALL the required items on each server. If no clan wins by August 21st 11:00 AM PDT, the clan who has the most items submitted will be declared the winner.
